From the mountain station of the Langenstein chairlift, first follow path No. 10,
then No. 4a and No. 4 to the Tabaretta Hut, continue to the Bärenkopfscharte, and finally along a slightly
exposed path secured with steel cables to the Payer Hut.
From the village near St. Gertraud Church, follow path No. 4 to the Tabaretta Hut and on to the Payer
Hut.
Walking time approx. 3 - 3.5 hours
There are two options from Trafoi.
From the village of Trafoi: At the village entrance, follow path No. 19, climbing quite steeply through the
forest, past the long-ruined Almenrosenhütte. After the tree line, continue to the also ruined Edelweißhütte and
on to the Payer Hut.

Via the Bergl Hut: The starting point here is the pilgrimage site Heilige Drei Brunnen (Three Holy
Fountains) shortly after Trafoi. Path No. 18 leads past the managed Berglhütte and on to the Payer
Hut.
